Saint Andrew

Saint Andrew was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus and the brother of Saint Peter. He is the patron saint of Romania, Scotland, Greece, Russia, Italy’s Amalfi and Barbados. According to legend, he preached the Gospel in Dobruja and founded a church in Patras. His feast day is November 30th. He is also remembered for his role in establishing the University of St Andrews in Scotland, which is now the oldest university in Scotland and one of the oldest universities in Europe.
