Apostle James the Less, also known as James the Minor, was one of the Twelve chosen by Jesus to be his disciples. He is believed to have been the son of Alphaeus and a relative of Mary, mother of Jesus. He was present with the 11 apostles in Jerusalem after Christ ascended into heaven. Little is known about him other than that he is traditionally identified as James the brother of Jesus and author of the first Catholic Epistle. His feast day is celebrated on May 3rd.
