Saint Matthias

Saint Matthias was an Apostle chosen by the remaining eleven Apostles to replace Judas Iscariot. He is known for his holiness and experience with Jesus from his baptism to his ascension. He is believed to have died a martyr by crucifixion or may have even been stoned and then beheaded. His feast day is celebrated on February 24th, and he is the patron of carpenters, tailors, those with smallpox, and in prayers for perseverence and for hope.
