Saint Jude

Saint Jude, also known as Saint Jude Thaddeus, is one of the twelve original apostles of Jesus. He is venerated by some Roman Catholics as the patron saint of hopeless causes and is known for his staunch defense of the faith against heretics. He is said to have preached the gospel with great zeal and was martyred with St. Simon in Persia. His feast day is celebrated on October 28th in the Western Church and June 19th and August 21st in the Eastern Church.
